The CJDGC Cubby Crosstown

Postby Ramsfan1 » Sun Feb 13, 2022 5:54 pm

The next CJDGC event will be the Cubby Crosstown on Sat. April 9th. One round will be at Allaire and one will be at OCP. Details are being worked out and will be posted here and on Facebook in Mid-March. This will be a good event and represents the Club's first tournament at two courses in a single day. Looking forward to honoring our Late Friend on this great occasion!

The Cubby Crosstown event page is posted on the Disc Golf Scene page and registration goes live this Saturday, 3/12. This will be a two round C-Tier event; Round One will be played at Allaire and round 2 will be played at OCP. Check-in and round times are posted on the DG site and more information on event particulars will soon follow. The tournament is being sponsored by Birdie Disc Golf Supply Company, who will be supplying our player packs. Reach out to Lou or Frank with questions about the event- we hope to see you there!

Welcome to all Cubby Crosstown Players! Please read the entire content below, as this explains day-of procedures and answers questions many players may have:

ARRIVAL/PARKING: Round one begins Sat. morning at Allaire. Players should arrive no earlier than 7:30, as this creates chaos while trying to set up. We have a new parking configuration in the main lot due to its expansion. We will once again have the overflow lot available to us across the street.

CHECK-IN: Player check-in is from 7:45-8:30. You will report to Lou and Frank so we can confirm your arrival, grab your player pack and caddy guide. We will also have Central Jersey Disc Golf Club tags available for sale @ $20 apiece to support the club. If you already have a tag, place it in the container on the table, as all tags are in play for the event.

MERCHANDISE SALES: As this is a Crosstown Event utilizing two different courses, we will not be setting up merchandise tables at Allaire. WE WILL of course have them set up at Ocean County Park for players to purchase/browse and for player payout.

BATHROOMS: There will be no Porta-potty on site at Allaire; take care of all bathroom needs before you arrive. There are clean bathrooms at the Visitors' Center down the street, but these will not be open until at least 8:00-8:30. At OCP, there are bathrooms by hole 1 and in the beach area near hole 7.

LAYOUT: The Allaire layout is standard save for hole 6 (short tee) and hole 7 (long tee). The OCP layout is standard and the hole 1 basket will be in the long position. Par, OB rules, Mandos etc. will all be spelled out in your caddy guide.

SCORING: The event will feature live scoring. A secondary scoring method must be utilized in each group, be it UDisc or a paper scorecard.

TEE TIMES/PLAYER MEETINGS: We plan to have a player meeting at Allaire at approx. 8:40. with a 9:15 tee off time. Commencement of round two at OCP will be approximated based on the completion time of the last rounds at Allaire. We will have a VERY BRIEF player meeting at OCP before round two just to verify player arrivals and to address any issues from the morning round. We figure on a 1:15-1:30 tee off time at OCP.

AWARDS: Awards and payout will follow shortly after the scores are tallied upon completion of round two. We will first re-distribute tags to all tag-holders.

We will post other information as needed. Reach out to Lou if you registered but cannot play- it is always a chore when dealing with drops and adds, so please do not hit us with last minute surprises. Looking forward to a nice day in honor of our friend Carl "Cubby" Cubbedge and the opportunity to run our very first Crosstown event as a club!
